Ole Wanscher OW149 "Colonial" Chair in Oak With Leather Cushions, made by Carl Hansen and Son

The OW149 Colonial Chair was designed by Ole Wanscher in 1959. Wanscher wished to create furniture that paid tribute to classic traditional trends but also stood the test of time. He achieved this balance with the design of the Colonial Chair, and it remains his most famous design to this day.

As a minimalist, Wanscher had a preference for the slim and refined. Yet despite its slender dimensions, the Colonial Chair is very stable. Its strength lying in the carefully designed bracing.

Model OW-149. Manufactured and marked by Carl Hansen & Søn.
Serial no. 1126646.

This is a recently produced chair by Carl Hansen and Son, the legendary Danish furniture makers with over 100 year of passionate dedication to high quality materials and craftsmanship. 

The condition is excellent, no signs of use or wear.
