This 1970s vintage Mario Bellini "Camaleonda" mid-century modular sofa is a 1970s original produced by C&B Italia and features its original brown velvet fabric. A portmanteau of the Italian words “camaleonte” (chameleon) and “onda” (wave), Bellini's idea was to create a sofa that can be be endlessly recombined to form new shapes depending on the mood or changing needs of the user. Available as a set of three pieces, this modular sofa embodies the essence of mid-century modernism with its innovative design and luxurious materials. The modular structure is made from plywood and polyurethane foam and includes the signature tie rods and rings which allow the modules to be hooked and unhooked to combine into new shapes and designs. This particular model features spherical black plastic feet and a maker's mark on the underside of the sofa.
